THREE-time Olympian Stephen Kawuma will soon find out that one of the hardest local chess feats is to defend the Easter weekend title.
The annual UCF Easter challenge is relished by many players and normally produces surprise results because of the tense competition.
The champion is up against his old rivals including Isaac Munanira, Shaddrack Kantinti, Grace Nsubuga, Geoffrey Kanduho and junior champion Walter Okas in the eight round swiss event that starts Friday at Lugogo.
Kenyan and Rwandan stars had been invited but they are yet to confirm their arrival.
