UGANDA Volleyball Federation has lifted an indefinite ban on Makerere University. Makerere, who were banned after defying a UVF directive, will now hold their annual MUK Open on March 25. UVF president Tom Omongole said that the pardon followed an apology to the federation from University sports tutor Penina Kabenge.

Open launch
THE Makerere table tennis open will be launched in Kampala today. Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) season opener will run for four days starting on Good Friday. The event, due at Makerere main hall, is sponsored by Fotogenix who will unveil their offer at the launch.

Masaza Cup
THE Masaza Cup will cost sh90m, an organising committee official revealed yesterday. The competition is slated to kick off on May 14, but the venue for the opening ceremony is yet to be decided. Mawokota County is the only one so far that has offered to host the ceremony. UTODA and Peacock Paints are sponsoring this year’s tournament.
