Kosgei’s 10,000m trials star

NDEJJE University’s Sammy Kosgei shone in the Kampala trails held at Kyambogo on Saturday.<br>He clocked 31 minutes 33.07 seconds to win the 10000m race before coming back to win also take the 1500m title in a time of 4:09.1.

NDEJJE University’s Sammy Kosgei shone in the Kampala trails held at Kyambogo on Saturday.
He clocked 31 minutes 33.07 seconds to win the 10000m race before coming back to win also take the 1500m title in a time of 4:09.1.
The race organised by the Kampala district athletics body attracted mostly university stars with St. Gerald as guest runners.
Francis Kasangule (Nkumba) and Sarah Nambawa (Ndejje) won the respective men and women races, while Andrew Opata (MUK) was beaten by Nakawa’s Eric Matovu in the 200m race.

r UGANDA Olympic Committee (UOC) president Maj Gen Francis Nyangweso has challenged officials of the national hockey association to reclaim the lost glory of the game.
“With this new facility hockey has to come out to lead the way. In 1960s we were dangerous. And now hockey has to come out and lead the way,” he said.
In Munich 1972, Uganda beat Germany and were ejected in the quarter finals.
