QUALIFIERS for the Sprite schools basketball championships in Wakiso and Mpigi districts take place today at St Peter’s Naalya and Vienna College respectively.

QUALIFIERS for the Sprite schools basketball championships in Wakiso and Mpigi districts take place today at St Peter’s Naalya and Vienna College respectively.
Regional defending champions Kabojja secondary school will hope to conclude the defence of their Wakiso basketball title against fourteen challengers when the Kampala schools qualifiers climax today. Sprite national schools champions Ndejje Secondary school also travel to Naalya.
Perennial contenders St Mary’s College Kisubi are among the other top contenders expected to take part in the event.
The top eight teams qualify for the National schools basketball championships.
In the girls’ category, twelve teams will compete.
St Peter’s Naalya Secondary School are hot favourites.
The prestigious Sprite Schools championship will be held at the end of this month at St Peter’s College Tororo.
Meanwhile, the National Schools Basketball Association (NASBA) will also select six representatives from Mbarara and Kabarole this weekend.
