<b>Chief urges</b><br>KAMPALA — The Government has been asked to stop scaring former president Dr. Apollo Milton Obote with threats of charging him when he returns. Lubaga Division LC3 chairman Justin Sendikadiwa said the threats would stop Obote from returning to face justice.

KAMPALA — The Government has been asked to stop scaring former president Dr. Apollo Milton Obote with threats of charging him when he returns. Lubaga Division LC3 chairman Justin Sendikadiwa said the threats would stop Obote from returning to face justice. Sendikadiwa said this at a ground breaking ceremony for tarmacking Masiro road in Lubaga Division on Friday.

Kids trained
KAMPALA — Friends of Children Association (FOCA) has trained street children in various skills. FOCA chairperson Marg-aret Meke said the training would help the children to become self-reliant. She said the association had trained 1,000 children since 1987.

Nkozi guild
MASAKA — Diana Nampewo polled 533 to beat Aggrey Kigongo to become guild president of National Teachers College, Nkozi. The polls that took place on Sunday saw Kigongo garner 333 votes. A third contestant, Mathias Ssewannyana, had pulled out in favour of Kigongo. Nampewo promised to work closely with her rivals to transform the college.

Two charged
KAMPALA — The managing director of Transsahara and his sales officer were on Tuesday charged with obtaining money by false pretence. Yusulf Manafu and Moses Okumu denied the charges before Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Emmanuel Baguma.
