Umeme, make an effort to change your service!

SIR — I would like to register my complaint with Umeme. I really thought there was going to be a drastic improvement in service delivery when they took over from UEDCL but I am disappointed.

SIR — I would like to register my complaint with Umeme. I really thought there was going to be a drastic improvement in service delivery when they took over from UEDCL but I am disappointed.

I reside in Nansana and power keeps going on and off in the locality. This means we have to call 185 every after two days.

They do not immediately rectify the problem and despite the fact that they call back, I spend much more money calling to remind them to rectify it.

Another issue is our Nakulabye office has not yet sent us our February and March electricity bills and we do not know why. I can only manage to pay my bills monthly because like most people in Uganda, I live off a tight budget. Umeme, how do you expect me to clear two months’ bill at a go?

Are we going to be disconnect and made to pay exorbitant reconnection fees? Surely, the problem this time is not ours! Please make an effort to improve your service.
