FORMER Cranes goalkeeper Dr. John Agard and FIFA referee Catherine Adipo have replaced Trevor Dudley and Florence Nkalubo, who declined appointment on the Federation of Uganda Football Associations’ normalisation committee.

Agard and Adipo (right), who have accepted FIFA’s appointment, join Dr. James Sekajugo, Patrick Isiagi, Peter Angaya, Kavuma Kabenge, John Matovu and Justus Mugisha on the committee that will be officially launched on May 12.

The world soccer body FIFA development officers Pascal Torres and Ashford Mamelodi and a CAF official will oversee the committee’s launching on a May 11 -13 working visit.

FIFA deputy general secretary Jerome Champagne in a May 2 letter to committee chairman Sekajugo and minister Namirembe Bitamazire said the trio’s visit will also set stage for the committee’s first formal working meeting.

Also top on the FIFA team’s agenda will be what Champagne has described as consultations with government and other stakeholders particularly the Super Division Clubs Association.

“I want to inform you that I will directly contact the honourable minister Geraldine Bitamazire to inform her of our visit and solicit an audience with her,” wrote Champagne.

The committee is charged with drafting new FUFA statutes and organising grassroot elections.
Bitamazire in February suspended the Dennis Obua led FUFA executive for abuse of office.
