MARTIN Toroitich has pulled out of his scheduled run in the Trieste marathon in Italy set for May 8 because of injury and fitness concerns. Toroitich returned to Uganda on Monday. The Trieste race was to be Torotich’s first attempt at a marathon, and also a realistic shot at qualifying for the World Athletics Championship in Finland in August.

John Oduke, the national tennis coach has organised a holiday tennis clinic this for children between eight and 16 years. The clinic starts on Monday May 9 at Lugogo tennis club courts.“I want to train these kids in the holiday,” said Oduke. Each child intending to take part will pay a registration fee of sh10,000 for the ten day clinic that ends on May 19.
