ICC Intercontinental, Day 1
Uganda 110-6 (at lunch)

FRANCO Nsubuga was the highlight of the local team batting with a quick unbeaten 23 after Uganda started on a false note, going down 110 for six wickets at lunch against Namibia on day one of the ICC Intercontinental match at Lugogo Oval yesterday.

Junior Kwebiiha (21*) was the other batsman at the crease by the lunch break after 32 overs.

The move to have Lawrence Sematimba (02) to open the batting proved futile when he was caught by wicket keeper Hugo Ludik in the second over after skipper Joel Olweny won the toss and opted to bat.

The top order crumbled like a park of cards with Benjamin Musoke (00), Olweny (12) and Nehal Bibodi (22) leaving the crease. Baig Akbar (05) and Nand Kishor (13) also failed the spin attack of Berry Burger who cheaply claimed their wickets.

Nsubuga’s 23 included three sixes and a four as he and Kwebiiha raised the total to a three-digit figure.
