7 envoys present credentials to Museveni

Seven new envoys accredited by their governments presented their credentials to president Yoweri museveni on Thursday.

Seven new envoys accredited by their governments presented their credentials to president Yoweri museveni on Thursday.

The ceremonies took place at State House, Nakasero, a statement issued by the presidential press unit said.

The envoys are sibabrata Tripathi from India, Ryuuzo Kikucho from Japan and Bernard Garancher from France.

Others are Benedikt Asgeirsson from Iceland, Benson Matengambiri Tembo from Malawi, Varol Ozocak from Turkey and Maj. Gen. Syeed Ahmed from Bangladesh.

Sibabrata was the first to present his letters of credence to Museveni.

He is a career diplomat, who prior to his appointment, served in madagascar and Sri Lanka.

Kikucho conveyed to Museveni greetings from the Emperor of Japan. He pledged to promote economic ties between the two countries.

France’s Garancher conveyed to Museveni greetings from President Jacques Chirac.

Asgeirsson conveyed to Museveni greetings from Premier David Oddson of Iceland and pledged to strengthen ties between the two countries.

Ozocak conveyed greetings from Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.

Tembo conveyed to Museveni greetings from President Bingu wa Mutharika of Malawi.
Syeed conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Khaled Zia to Museveni.
