AGEING former President Godfrey Binaisa (right) is love sick and lonely, a month after his new Japanese wife left the country under unclear circumstances.

Binaisa cried out in an interview with Bukedde’s Sunday edition, that he had lost sleep as the bed was colder and that he was making efforts to woo his wife, Tomoko Yamamoto back from the United States.

“My Japanese sweetheart spoilt me with love. She cuddles me like a baby and now that she is not here, life is hard,” Binaisa lamented.

Binaisa, 80, married 57-year-old Tomoko Yamamoto, a pharmacist based in Ohio, USA, via satellite, in a wedding presided over by Unification Church leader, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon last August.

A high profile wedding reception ceremony attended by President Yoweri Museveni was held for the couple in Kampala in December.

Binaisa revealed that Yamamoto brought him a love-bed where she massages him from head to toe, soothing his body to heavenly tranquillity.

“For our love, she brought a bed where she lays me down and cleans my whole body from head to toe. She messages all the corners on my body and I feel the freshness of life,” he said.

Yamamoto reportedly left over a misunderstanding with her step-daughter Nakalema, who was said to be interfering with the way Yamamoto was running the home.

Binaisa said the Government promised to give him sh400m to complete his mansion in Mutundwe where he plans to shift in July from the Muyenga house rented by the Government. He said he had so far received sh300m.

Binaisa said although he had people to cook and take care of him, he still missed Yamamoto because she cared for him like a baby.

He further praised Yamamoto, saying, “Her efficiency is amazing. When she realises that I want tea, in a minute the tea is on the table. I appreciate Japanese women more than Ugandan women, because they make an effort to care for you to the extent that she finds out why you did not finish your tea. This is unlike women here who do not care for men.”
He said by the time she left, Yamamoto had learnt to eat local food like matooke, although she mostly ate rice and macaroni.

He, however, said Yamamoto had not divorced him but was looking after her daughter, who had just given birth.
