Museveni hosts Ahmadiyya chief

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday met with the supreme head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, at State House, Nakasero.

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday met with the supreme head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, at State House, Nakasero.

A statement from State House yesterday said Museveni told Ahmad that the Movement government allowed freedom of worship.

Ahmad, who is based in the UK, was accompanied by the sect’s director of foreign affairs, Munir Ahmad Javed and the chief executive and missionary in charge Uganda Ahmadiyya muslim Association, Maulana Muhammad Rabbani.

Ahmad briefed museveni on the sect’s mission.

He said the Ahmadiyya sect aims at providing help to the needy, opening up schools as well as hospitals.
