KAMPALA Kids League (KKL) in conjunction with Friends of Football (FOF) are organising a six-team international tournament this weekend.

The KKL International Tournament, sponsored by Stanbic Bank, has attracted U-16 aged teams from Kenya, Burundi and Sudan.

The KKL Gothia World Youth Cup winning team, who are in preparation for Euro tour 2005, will be taking part. FOF and KCC have entered teams.

The tournament will be held at the new KCC stadium at Lugogo.

Qualifying league games will take place on Friday and the play offs and final will be played on Saturday.

KKL Commissioner, Trevor Dudley, is pleased with the joint venture.

“We are both working to improve the standard of youth football in Uganda. This will give local teams an opportunity to compare their skills internationally. Ugandans will also have the opportunity to see the KKL Totos team compete on home soil,” Dudley said.

KKL are hoping that the tournament will become an annual international Aids awareness event that will attract teams from all over Africa, Europe and USA.
