THE Vice-President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, has said the NRM’s conspicuous record is the basis on which most Ugandans base their advocacy for continuity and maintenance of the status quo in the political management of the country.

He was on Saturday officiating at the launch of singer Sarah Babirye’s album “Kaguta babwongere Ekisanja” at the Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel in Entebbe.

In a speech read by Busiro East MP Mike Ssebalu, Bukenya said Babirye was a patriot who had chosen to promote the achievements of the Movement through songs and entertainment.

He said in spite of the Movement government being the greatest achiever since independence, many Ugandans had refused to articulate the facts to promote unity, peace and security.

“This album is timely at this point of our political transition. It reminds us of our agonising past which was only redeemed by the NRM intervention in 1986,” Bukenya said.
