SIR — I have read with amazement Mr. Stewart S. Mutabazi’s letter entitled “Avitus Tibarimbasa is a very capable representative”.
The letter refers to a group of individuals who have allegedly paid journalists to tarnish Tibarimba’s name.

As a resident of Buhara sub-county, Ndorwa East, my assessment of the letters about Tibarimbasa reflect the majority opinion of the constituents about him.

I highly doubt that any journalist can be paid to publish bad stories about Tibarimbasa. They simply report what he says.

Soon after Mutabazi’s letter, Tibarimbasa was quoted as talking of “a dictator minister and an animal”.

Doesn’t he use this offensive language in the presence of people?

Why then don’t such people or himself challenge such stories?
It seems Mutabazi does not hail from Ndorwa East. Which village bank has Tibarimbasa started?

The Maziba bridge was promised by the President when the former MP of the area, Shem Bageine took him to the site during his tenure and the President directed its construction.

The constituents were there in big numbers. Where is the NGO looking after children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and what has it done?

Which youths obtained motorcycles at subsidised rates and where do they hail from?

SIR— I have read a letter by Stewart Mutabazi in which he claims that Avitus Tibarimbasa, MP for Ndorwa East initiated an NGO to look after children orphaned by AIDS.

To the best of my knowledge, other than sending his aides to collect the data on the number of children and where they came from, no such NGO has ever assisted any child in Ndorwa East.

People even wonder why Tibarimbasa sought such information from us since it has not benefited anybody!

I therefore doubt whether such an NGO even exists in the register of NGOs.
