Kasasa confident Uganda will overcome Kenya

UGANDA rugby coach Yayiro Kasasa is confident that Uganda will beat Kenya in a Group 1b World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

UGANDA rugby coach Yayiro Kasasa is confident that Uganda will beat Kenya in a Group 1b World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

“To sum it up, a win”, Kasasa replied when asked what Ugandans should expect from his team on Saturday. Kasasa was speaking at a press conference convened at Kyadondo Rugby Club to announce Bell Lager’s sh11m sponsorship package for the match.

Uganda Breweries brand manager Oscar Mulira said Bell Lager has launched a promotion with SMS Media to allow fans win tickets to the match. The promotion will run on Capital FM, Radio One, CBS and Super FM.

Local artistes will also perform on that day that will have Zimbabwe and Zambian officials handling the game.

* URU named a squad of 22 players and four officials ahead of the encounter that will have the national women team play a curtain raiser match against their counterparts from Kenya.

“We have named a mature and experienced side capable of notching victory. Our aim is to thump Kenya at Kyadondo before we proceed to Madagascar for another tie in July,” Kasasa said.
