JOHN Mark Nalocca was eliminated from the World Youth Championship in Marrakesh, Morocco after he finished sixth in Heat 3 of the 100m in a time of 11.41. Nalocca consequently fell out because only winners of the respective heats and individuals who register the top 12 times qualify for the second round. Samuel Egadu was due to run in Heat 3 of the male 400m.

AWF boss
THE African Weightlifting Federation (AWF) president Gamil Harma has confirmed he will be in the country for the continental elections and championships due July 23-28 at Didis World. In a communication to UWF, Harma is expected in the country July 20.

FIVE-time champions Gulu will face a stiffer challenge when Kabarole hosts the national post primary schools athletics championship July 20-23 in Fort Portal. Kapchorwa, Wakiso, Arua, Lira and Soroti are among the districts that are expected to be at forefront at the meet. Uganda Schools Sports Association’s Patrick Okanya said over 40 teams are expected.
