Red Cross treats Gulu displaced

THE International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) conducted over 100 major surgical operations and 380 minor gynaecological consultations on victims of the LRA rebel war in Gulu district worth over sh135m, Gulu medical officials have said.

THE International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) conducted over 100 major surgical operations and 380 minor gynaecological consultations on victims of the LRA rebel war in Gulu district worth over sh135m, Gulu medical officials have said.

The operations were carried out during a two-week surgical camp that ICRC pitched at Gulu regional referral hospital.

They were conducted by the ICRC Nairobi-based regional surgeon for Africa, Dr. Valery Sasin assisted by personnel he trained last week.
