COMPUTERS for Africa, a US-based charity, has donated 40 computers worth sh80m to St Joseph’s SSS Nagalama, Mukono district. The donation was received by the headmistress, Agnes Nsubuga, at the school recently.

The chairman Computers for Africa, Lea Cook, said the donation was one of the organisation’s efforts to uplift education standards in the school.

“We want all Ugandan teenagers to become computer literate,” he said.
Cook said the donation came as a result of the relationship between the school and Computers for Africa organisation.

St Joseph’s SSS Nagalama is among the oldest Catholic-founded schools in the country with a population of 1050.
Nsubuga said Science subjects and computer lessons are compulsory at the school.

“Our aim is to equip our students with computer skills as the world is becoming a world of technology.

“I also commend Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for the tax exemption on the computers,” Nsubuga said. She hailed Computers for Africa for the donation and appealed to it for more assistance.
