FAST rising middleweight David Kitooke is to fight Kenya’s Joseph Odhiambo July 30 at Lugogo in an ABU tune up fight. The towering former national amateur champion, being moulded by local promoters Big Strikers Promotions into a class fighter, has built a record of 4 (3Kos)-1-0. There will be a number of support fights on the same card.

TOM Omongole has been re-appointed interim president of East and Central Africa Volleyball Confederation. He was first elected in September. He was chosen in an extraordinary assembly at the World Championship qualifiers in Nairobi.

NATASHA Ratter made her debut in the 11th World Swimming Championships in Montreal, Canada Monday by shattering her 100m backstroke record. The youngest member of the Ugandan team clocked one minute 26.75 seconds finishing in 68th position in an event that had 70 participants with two non starters. Ratter’s previous mark stood at one minute 40.04 seconds.
