GUN-wielding thugs over the weekend robbed four vehicles in the city, in what the Police have described as a new spate of vehicle robberies targeting four-wheel drive vehicles.

Two thugs armed with a pistol tied Joseph Kyamanywa, an administrative manager with the National Agricultural Advisory Services, with a rope before robbing his Ford ranger UAA 335F on Kigoowa road, in a Kampala city suburb.

Kampala deputy Police commander Basil Mugisha (right) said other vehicles robbed were a Toyota Corona UAF 871H belonging to Xavier Karagura and Richard Sebavuma’s special-hire car.

He said another corona UAF 054K belonging to Ntabazi was robbed as he drove to his gate at Half London in Kansanga.

Mugisha told a press conference yesterday that the three cars, apart from the NAADS vehicle, were recovered.

Charles Kisitu and Ismail Lwere were arrested in connection with the thefts.
