USE turnover hits sh15m

<br>TURNOVER at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) was sh15.4m in the week to Thursday, up from sh4m last week.

TURNOVER at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) was sh15.4m in the week to Thursday, up from sh4m last week.

Dfcu accounted for biggest turnover during the week, bagging sh10m followed by Uganda Clays (UCL) with sh5.1m.

Dfcu traded 752 shares at sh355 per share. Its share price fell from sh360 last Thursday.

On Tuesday, dfcu bagged sh9.9m after trading 26,922 shares at sh370 each while UCL bagged sh5.1m after trading 432 shares at sh12,000 each.

The all share index gained to 715.69 points from 705.82 last week due to increased share prices of cross listed equities like Kenya Airways and East African Breweries.

Market capitalisation increased to sh3,482.2b from sh3,436.5b last Thursday.

British American Tobacco offered each share at sh735, Bank of Baroda sh830, East African Breweries sh3,819, Kenya Airways (KA) sh1,716, New Vision sh190 and Uganda Clays sh12,000.

Meanwhile, KA’s board announced a first and final dividend of Ksh1.25 per share to be paid on September 14.
