YUMBE Woman MP Nusura Tiperu (left) has dismissed reports of fresh rebel recruitment by the Uganda National Rescue Front (UNRF II) in West Nile.

Tiperu told parliament on Tuesday that the people of Yumbe and Koboko resolved in 2002 to wipe out banditry from their district and would never again tolerate a rebellion.

“West Nile is extremely peaceful. Three years after (former rebel leader Maj. Gen. Ali) Bamuze signed a peace agreement, the Government has fulfilled its pledge,” Tiperu said.
