LAST Wednesday, Ritah Nkemba, who has been at the forefront of bringing children off the streets, launched her album and dedicated it to them.

Aptly named A Cry From The Streets, the album showcases some rare talent from the kids.
Apart from singing well, the kids danced and entertained the audience that turned up at the National Theatre.

Equally impressive were the Gaba Community Centre kids.
Wilson Bugembe, a 20 year old a former street kid looking after 60 kids, sang songs whose harrowing lyrics moved some people to tears.

Nkemba’s kids, The Rebuilders, gave touching testimonies.
The chief guest, Esther Nsibambi, called for public support and pledged sh1m together with her husband, who was absent. Her son pledged sh0.5m.

Other pledges were about sh600,000.
The free show was well attended and entertaining.
