KCC FC coach Hussein Kheri has challenged his charges to put behind their financial tribulations and win tomorrow’s Kakungulu Cup tie against Express for the sake of their passionate fans.

Kheri’s side will trot onto the Nakivubo turf, demoralised, having gone close to four months without pay and owed sh15m.

“The morale is of course so low because the players are owed four months salary. I have asked them to put this behind them and do it for the fans,” the Kenyan-born tactician said. He said the team has been abandoned yet expectations are high. Express are confident and expect their youngsters led by Nicholas Kabali to out-gun their city rivals.

Meanwhile, FUFA has decided that the third place City Tyres Super League play-off scheduled to have pitted Express FC and KCC, will not be played.

“Why play?” Kavuma Kabenge, chairman of the FUFA normalisation committee in charge of competitions asked.

“We will use their respective results to find who finishes third. Express automatically win,” he added.

In the semi-finals, KCC lost 5-1 to SC Villa on aggregate while Express FC lost out to away goals rule after playing out to a 3-3 draw against Police.

He hastened to add that; “The time for the final at Namboole at 7pm stands. These are rules that have to be followed.”

The competitions boss explained that the kick-off time targets mainly the working class that leaves duty at 5pm.

“It’s a new concept that we want to stretch to the next season,” said Kabenge.
