THE Butaleja interim district council on Friday passed a sh6.4b budget for the financial year 2005/06.

writes that the council, presided over by the chairman, Sam Weyre Hibinga, also approved a three-year roll-on development plan, with plans to construct a sh600m administration complex. They also intend to train the councils and civil servants in public relations.
Vice-chairperson and secretary for finance Richard Waya said the district planned to raise sh43m from local revenue while the rest of the money was expected from the Central Government.
