GULU — Security state minister Betty Akech Okullu has commended residents of Paicho internally displaced persons for keeping their camp clean. She was addressing a security mobilisation meeting at the camp on Tuesday.



New homes
LIRA — Christian Life Ministries is to build 500 homes for orphaned children in Lira, Gulu and Mukono districts, Pastor Jackson Senyonga, has said. Senyonga said each three-bedroom house would have a bathroom with running water.
NGO aids
GULU — An NGO has donated items to the elderly at Cwero internally displaced peoples’ camp in Aswa county. The second-hand clothes, washing soap and shoes were handed over by the director of Lakareber Funds for Children and Disabled, Emily Nielsen.
Kony urged
GULU — Former abductees of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) have appealed to Joseph Kony and his commanders to surrender and continue with peace talks with the government. Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Jane Aber urged the rebels still in the bush to come back home.
