MEXICANS in Uganda last Saturday joined their counterparts back home in celebrations to mark 195 years of independence.

The Honourary Consul of Mexico, Manzur Alam, hosted guests to a dinner at his home in Nakasero, Kampala, where he called for more cooperation between the two countries in the areas of education, agriculture and trade.

“We can jointly do many things that benefit our people. There is need for strengthened cooperation for us to realise economic development. We share a lot in common and we can prosper by working together,” he said.

Investment state minister Semakula Kiwanuka, who represented the government, congratulated Mexican leader Vicente Fox and the people of Mexico on the occasion.
