CLUB Volts will light up the night when African light middleweight champion Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya battles with Czech Thomas Kugler in a Commonwealth tune fight October 22 at Lugogo.

The discotheque firm unveiled its package for the highly billed fight yesterday at their premises on Entebbe road.

“Our entertainment sponsorship package is worth sh4.5m,” Tom Wabwire, assistant manager of the firm said at the presentation of the package.

“We want to be part of this fight because we believe that Lusambya is a great champion.”

The sponsorship will partly cover the public address system and entetainment during the fight.

Lusambya is preparingfor his first fight against an opponent from outside Africa. He early this year beat South African Tsepho Mashengo improving his record to 11-0-0 (10 KOs).

A win for Lusambya will gruantee him a Commonwealth title shot against Ghana’s Ossie Duran early next year or a WBC Inter Continental belt.

Lusambya, a devoted Muslim said that the Holy month of Ramathan wouldn’t affect him.

Big Strikers, the promoters of “Mr Crush” Lusambya, are underway to discuss a deal that will connect the Ugandan prizefighter to British boxing promoter Frank Warren.

“We are set to tie up a deal with Frank Warren during the WBC and Commonwealth conventions running in Cadiz, Spain,” Emmanuel Mwesigwa, a director of Big Strikers said.

“Our purpose is to see to it that our boxer get title fights.”

Warren promotes Welsh World Boxing Organization champion Joe Calzaghe and a host of British star pugilists.
