THE Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) has funded rehabilitation of a sh300m road in Mukono, the district chairman has said.
Godfrey Ddamulira said labour-intensive technology would be used on the 8km Nakifuma-Namasubi and Kasawo-Lwajali road.
“We opted for manual labour because it is cheap, cost-effective and will avail residents with part-time jobs,” he said.
While commissioning work on the road at Nakiwate trading centre recently, Ddamulira said business and agriculture would flourish after construction of the road because it would enable farmers transport produce to the market timely.
He blamed politicians for the failure of government anti-poverty projects, accusing mostly MPs of politicising them.
Ddamulira blamed the rampant crime in the district on idle and unemployed people and urged the youths to shun politics and engage in income-generating activities.
