MULAGO A club won the league for the second time on Sunday after a run of eight wins and one draw.

The club comprising several stars including Olympians Stephen Kawuma and Willy Zabasajja beat Mengo in a Division 1 contest in Kampala to reclaim the crown they first won in 2003. The new champions will face lowly Luzira A when the event ends this weekend.

Mulago, the only unbeaten side, will seek to end the event this way. But Luzira need to win to avoid demotion.

Mulago takes over from last year’s champions Kireka A whose era ended after losing 3-1 to Luzira.

New heroes Mulago have 25.5 points with Kireka in second position at 20 and Mengo at 18.5 points.

Mulago B, a junior club of Mulago A, is also enjoying a good run in Division 2.
