LUWEERO - District Police commander Martin Muwanika has opposed the promotion of Local Administration Police personnel in the newly-created Nakaseke district by LC5 chief Sempala Kigozi. muwanika, whose office is overseeing Nakaseke, opposed Kigozi, saying the promotions were illegal because Kigozi had no powers to promote. Kigozi promoted 20 officers, including his escorts.

Ssempa asks
KAMPALA - Pastor Martin Ssempa of Makerere Community church has asked the Government to review the children's Law, to avert the increasing cases of indiscipline among children. addressing journalists on Friday, Ssempa said children's rights had silenced the parental right of teachers, leading to indiscipline.

UYD claims
KAMPALA - Uganda will only celebrate true independence once the democratic Party (DP) comes into power in 2006, a Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) official, Mukasa Mbidde, said on Friday. He was speaking at a debate at kyambogo University.
