A case where a Ugandan doctored a FIFA letter to the FUFA normalisation committee has been forwarded to the world soccer governing body for action.

The committee presented copies of the right letter and the altered one to FIFA’s development officer Ashford Mamelodi, who promised to take up the matter with Zurich.

Sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi was very bitter with the anomaly and vowed to fight such practices.

One of the FIFA letters missed a paragraph acknowledging Saturday’s general assembly.

The doctored letter gave a false impression of when FIFA wanted the assembly. The anomaly heightened fears of a ploy by some normalisation committee members wanting to extend their term.

“You should ensure that such people do not return to the assembly,” said Bakkabulindi after officially opening the FUFA extra-ordinary assembly.

Delegate Hassan Mutasa had demanded that the culprit be exposed.

The letter was addressed to committee chairman Dr. James Sekajugo who passed it over to John Matovu to distribute to the members.

Meanwhile, business mogul Godfrey Kirumira yesterday officially resigned as Express FC chairman following unprecedented pressure from the fans.

“I think it is also time to step aside and let new people in. It has been a great eight years for me.”
