Bwambale defeated in Kasese district polls

VETERAN Kasese woman MP Loice Biira bwambale’s hopes to get the chair of the NRM District Women’s League were shattered when a senior presidential adviser on mobilisation, Christine Muhindo, won the elections.

VETERAN Kasese woman MP Loice Biira bwambale’s hopes to get the chair of the NRM District Women’s League were shattered when a senior presidential adviser on mobilisation, Christine Muhindo, won the elections.

Muhindo got 65 votes, while Bwambale had 38 in the elections at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kamaiba, west of Kasese town on saturday.

Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, the National Political commissar, was elected unopposed to head the Kasese District NRM conference chair.
Kiyonga will be deputised by the district vice-chairperson, John Baguma, who was also unopposed.

Retired south Rwenzori diocesan Bishop, Zebedee Masereka, was elected in absentia as chairperson for the elderly.

The Speaker, Charles Baluku, was elected secretary general of the district NRM delegates’ conference with 74 votes, beating the district chairperson Yokasi Bihande and former acting district Movement secretary, Anna Muhindo, who got 67 and 23 votes respectively.

Jennifer Kabarangira and Kaluma Matovu, the district Movement Cadres’ forum chief, were elected treasurer and chairperson of war veterans, respectively.
