Newly crowned Uganda Golf Open champion Charles Yokwe wants more success at the Ernst and Young tournament starting Saturday.

Yokwe and over 60 other golfers will be competing on the par-72 Kitante course.

The handicap+3 star defied a spirited fight by several foreign players to win his second Open at the same course last weekend.

Yokwe beat a South African Norman Raad by one stroke in the highly competed for event. The champion, whose maiden Open title came in 2003, cannot wait for Saturday’s event to start.

“I am looking forward to the tournament, I have had several hours of practice,” Yokwe said.

Yokwe is up against triple Open champion Stephen Birungi, John Waigo, Charles Kareba, Emmanuel Wamala, Henry Rugamba.

Lady players include former national champions Margaret Turya and Esther Okullo.

The players return to action at the Cross Country tournament at the same course on Sunday.
