— The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Ssekandi, has warned fishmongers at landing sites against keeping fuel in their houses. He was on Monday reacting to a fire outbreak that gutted over 10 houses at Namirembe landing site in kyanamukaka sub-county on Sunday, killing three-year-old Shamira Namugabi.

Mbabali eyes

— Speaker of Parliament Edward Ssekandi has said DP publicist Jude Mbabali is welcome to join the race for the Bukoto central parliamentary seat. ssekandi, the incumbent MP, said on Sunday he was not bothered by the decision of Mbabali to declare his intentions to unseat him on the Democratic Party ticket.
