THE National Union of Football Fans (NUFFA) will continue to work hand-in-hand with the private sector in their pursuit for the improvement of the game of soccer in the country, according to the organisation chairman Joseph Kizito.

Kizito said this at a function where NUFFA received a boost of sh1.8m from Aquifer Tours and Travel, for a national soccer symposium slated for November 25, at the Public Works Training centre, Kyambogo.

“We highly commend this gesture from Aquifer because this step is in the positive direction of uplifting our local game,” Kizito who was flanked by the organisation’s treasurer Francis Ntalazzi said at the function yesterday.

On her part, Aquifer’s Administration and Finance manager Vivienne Birungi said they were impressed that the fans were getting organised to take a keen look at the administration of the game.

“We hope that you are also going to take accountability as a very important issue as it has become one of the most contentious issues in the local game,” Birungi said.

Aquifer marketing manager Muhammad Ali was also present.

NUFFA is an organisation of football fans who are bent on reviving interest in the local game by all stakeholders. The body is in the process of organising a one-day symposium to discuss the way forward for the local game.

According to Kizito, all those fans with European soccer craze now should copy whatever they have learnt and bring it to the local game.
