WINNING a national championship is every golfer’s dream.
For some golfers, the success comes easily while for others, it takes a long and frustrating wait.

The latter category has seasoned golfer Stephen Kasaija (right)who looks set to lift Uganda’s biggest golf prize.
The dfcu bank sponsored Kasaija went a step better in his bid by winning the Kinyara Chairman’s Open at the weekend.

“This is another important step towards the title, I am delighted,” Kasaija said.
The Fort Portal star carded 77 on the first 18 before he made a brilliant leap with level par-71 on the second 18 to win.

It will take a major collapse to deny Kasaija the title after over six years of a frustrating campaign.

The Kinyara success earned Kasaija his seventh win of the season and he will ultimately be a worthy champion.
Kasaija has shown consistency unlike many of his rivals like Godfrey Mande who in four events, including the Kinyara Open, led day one but faltered on the second.

Focus now turns to the Arua Open slated for November 26-27.
Two more events after the Arua Open will end the season before the national champion is declared.
