KAMPALA City Council (KCC) has extended sh7.5m to people with disabilities (PWDs) to invest in small businesses.

KAMPALA City Council (KCC) has extended sh7.5m to people with disabilities (PWDs) to invest in small businesses, reports Florence Nakaayi.

The money was shared among 75 people following their applications to the council.

Mayor John Kizito Ssebaana advised the PWDs not to regard themselves as inferior but join in development.
He warned the beneficiaries against misusing the money.

City secretary for social improvement, Winnie Makumbi said they received 400 applications but their budget could cater for only 75 people. The secretary of the district PWDs committee, Mulushid Buwembo, thanked the Government for setting up PWDs councils.
