GTZ’s 30-year celebration

IN this “politically active” city, if you invite one to your end of year anniversary or birthday party, better indicate that it has nothing to do with a political party!

Such is the euphoria that has gripped the city. State Minister for Water Maria Mutagamba, who was the chief guest at the 30-year anniversary party of the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) last Thursday at their Nakasero headquarters, turned up in Movement party colours, surrounded by military police. You would imagine she had mistaken Nakasero for Namboole Stadium where the Movement conference is currently going on.

Mutagamba then sang Happy Birthday to GTZ; perhaps to remind herself that she was at the right function!

The 30th anniversary appeared as a celebration of art. Sh3m was given to artists who included Suubi Lule for having excelled in the GTZ art competition, while Blood Brothers, the Uganda All Stars and Blu*3’s Cindy entertained guests with the Hand in Hand sound track.
