UGANDA Tennis Association (UTA) is set to host the second leg of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) East Africa 18 years and under Circuit set for on December 3-7 at Lugogo Tennis Club.

UTA is however short of funds. “UTA needs sh31.7m to organise the event and we haven’t even raised half of that. We are appealing to the private sector to come up and bail us out,” Dean Kibirige, UTA vice chairman said.

ITF has given the host country $9,000(Sh16.6m) for organising the circuit.

Teams will come from Botswana, Burundi, Czech Republic, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Great Britain, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia, Romania, Rwanda, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The first leg runs in Kigali November 27-December 1 and the Kampala leg takes place December 3-7 while the Nairobi one will be held December 9-13.
