MIGADDE College emerged victorious at the finals of the three-day long 2005 Power FM Inter School drama and writing competitions.

Ntinda View College and Lubiri SSS came second and third respectively. The competitions were aimed at creating more awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The best actor was from Lubiri SSS while the best actress came from Migadde College.

London College, which hosted the event recently, won the best script and best director awards. The schools wrote their own scripts under the theme Life and Health.

Greenhill Academy, Wampewo Ntakke SSS and Seroma Christian High School also participated but dropped out in the preliminaries.
The guest of honour, Ms Beat Bisangwa from the Office of the First Lady, awarded the prizes, which included plaques and trophies.

Power FM’s audience relations manager Raymond Katugugu said the station has been targeting schools for the past two years because the youth were more vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.

The radio station works with the Office of the First Lady, the Global Fund, ACET Uganda, Family Life Network and the Church in promoting abstinence.

The adjudicators judged the costumes, stage management, content, presentation, composure and suitability.
