WORLD Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas light middleweight champion Robert “The Doctor” Kamya will defend his crown against Mexican Marcio Antonio Rubio on December 8.

Kamya won the title in August on majority decision over Congolese Alex Bunema.

He comes up against WBC’s number eight contender in the super welterweight division. Rubio is three steps above former IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma and five above Kamya.

Kamya has won three of his last six fights while Rubio has won six of his last fights with four technical knockouts.

The fight will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Meanwhile, six Ugandan pugilists have been ranked by the Commonwealth Boxing Council (CBC) for the month of October.

Oceania Pacific Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Peter Okello is listed in the heavyweight division currently vacant.

The other Ugandan fighters in the rankings are Florida based James Lubwama, Kassim Ouma and Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya.
