JUBILATION filled the air as 389 graduands from Nyabyeya Forestry College, Masindi district, were awarded certificates and diplomas at the college’s 47th graduation on Friday.

Patrick jaramogi reports that the 389 graduated in Forestry, Agro-Forestry, Bee keeping, Carpentry and Wood Technology.

Addressing the graduands, the principal, Dr. Wilson Kasolo, said, “Nyabyeya Forestry College is the only institution which offers technical level forestry training in the country. Today’s graduation highlights our humble contribution to sustainable forest resources management in this country.”

He said since the college was established in 1948, it had developed diverse programmes and enriched the contents of the traditional ones in response to changing dimensions in forest resources.

“I am glad to report that there is growing interest in our programmes, with female enrolment also increasing due to our deliberate affirmative action and gender mainstreaming,” he said.
