THE First Lady has appealed to the people of Ruhama county in Ntungamo district to vote wisely in the coming parliamentary elections.

Mrs. Janet Museveni is an NRM party aspirant for the Ruhama county seat. The seat is currently held by FDC party’s Augustine Ruzindana.

“Your votes are like seeds. If you sow good seed, you will harvest good yields. If you sow the bad ones, your harvest will be likewise. May God guide you so that you have a good harvest,” Mrs. Museveni said.

She was on Thursday officiating at the fundraising for the completion of St. Augustine Church in Itojo, Ruhama.
Mrs. Museveni lamented about people forsaking God and asked them to return to God if poverty in Uganda and Africa is to be eradicated.

“It is dangerous to live in a country that has no God. Today you find people in the villages practically seated on their land and there is no food. We then rely on the western donors for food aid. Let us return to God because blessings come from him. He is the source of everything good. This is how we shall develop our country and the continent,” she said.
Present at the function were MPs Beatrice Rwakimari (Ntungamo Woman) and finance minister Mwesigwa Rukutana (Rushenyi).

The fundraising function was interrupted by a downpour that lasted close to two hours.

Ntungamo LC5 chairperson Wycliffe Karazarwe hailed the First Lady for her contribution to national development through assisting orphans and women.
