HASSAN Mubiru scored on the international scene for the first time in two years last night as Cranes took their tally to 13 goals in two CECAFA games.
Second half substitute Mubiru got a brace with Vincent Kayizzi and Morely Byekwaso making it 7-0, a day after Cranes humbled Djibouti 6-0.
Geoffrey Massa finished off a Abubaker Tabula cross, then beat the offside trap for his second before Steven Nsereko made it 3-0 before half time.
In the earlier game, Bebsere Shegere’s hattrick saw Ethiopia beat Sudan 3-1.
Meanwhile, hosts Rwanda breezed to a 3-2 victory over Eritrea to the joy of an estimated 20,000 fans Wednesday.
The Amavubi clawed their way back with goals from Jimmy Gatete and a brace from Jean Lomami.

  • UGANDA is lobbying to swap next year’s Al Amoudi Challenge Cup championship for the Kagame-sponsored CECAFA Club championship.
Just days after being handed the right to host the 2006 Challenge Cup, the Ugandan delegation through Sam Tamale Kapeera, have had a change of heart.
“We feel the Kagame event will be of more advantage to us because our clubs will not be in good position to fully fund their trips to Sudan yet the national team will be guaranteed free tickets,” Tamale argued.
CECAFA will decide this in January in Cairo.
Ethiopian tycoon Sheikh Al Amoudi has guaranteed $100,000 for organising the Challenge Cup.
