SN BRUSSELS yesterday stepped in to save the Cranes from being expelled from the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Rwanda when they cleared FUFA’s outstanding affiliation fees.

The SN Brussels Airline managing director Pierre Declerck handed over a cheque of $400 (sh0.75m) to the National Council of Sports (NCS) general secretary Jasper Aligawesa yesterday to cater for the fees.

“We learnt about the team’s fate through the press and as a company committed to helping sports, we felt we could do something. We did not want them to lose focus after their good progress in the tournament in Rwanda,” Declerck said.

CECAFA had threatened to expel the Uganda Cranes unless the money was paid.

“We appreciate SN Brussels’ gesture. We are now sure our team will not be forced back,” Aligawesa said.

SN Brussels Communications manager Roger Wamala handed over the cheque.
