MUKONO diocese has started a sh470m income-generating project to fund church activities.
MUKONO diocese has started a sh470m income-generating project to fund church activities, Steven Kaziimba, the dean, has said, report Joel Ogwang.
He said Providence Church of Michigan State, US, contributed sh210m towards the project, known as Mukono Cathedral Project.
“We are increasing our pool of funds from the usual tithe and church offerings to independently sustain church activities,†Kaziimba said.
He said St Steven’s Church of US, in partnership with St Peter’s and St Andrew’s Cathedral, donated $10,000 (about sh18.2m) recently.
Kaziimba said the church recently organised a fundraising at the site in Mukono and collected sh26m in cash, cheques and pledges.
