TOM Tikolo, the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) tournaments co-ordinator has confirmed that the U-19 World Cup warm up tournament that was set for December 18-24 in Mombasa has been put off.

Africa World Cup representatives Uganda and Namibia, alongside hosts Kenya, were to take part in the championship ahead of the World Cup in Sri Lanka February 5-19.

“Uganda decided to tour Sri Lanka for acclimatisation instead of the tournament in Mombasa.

Namibia will also take part in other tournaments in Asia prior to the World Cup,” Tikolo said.

Uganda Cricket Association vice-chairman Chris Azuba confirmed the Under-19 programme and said that the squad would be in Colombo ten days before the tournament for build-up matches.
