CENTRE referee Yusuf Awuye (top) has been struck off the FIFA referees’ list.
Awuye, the longest serving FIFA referee had his name rejected by FIFA together with Festus Kirumira and Haruna Kebba. This left Uganda with only four officials.
“They (FIFA) do not give reasons. They just send the names back without those that have been dropped from the original list sent by the national federations,†said FUFA referees’ committee head Catherine Adipo.
New faces on the list are Hillary Kimbugwe, (assistant referee) and Aisha Ssemambo.
The full list is as follows
Referees Men: M. Segonga, F. Mufta, A. Kalyango and A. Bukenya. Women: C. Adipo, M. Kubingi and A. Ssemambo
Assistants Men: A. Tomusange, N. Mubanda, H. Bugembe, S. Kayondo, Y. Kitti, R. Bukenya, Kimbugwe Women: R. Rwamuyamba, F. Ssemambo and D. Mukasa.
